Leukodepletion Filters
 Leukocytes (white blood cells) are a key concern in transfusion medicine as they have been linked to a range of detrimental health effects on the recipient of donated blood. Universal leukodepletion (the removal of leukocytes) has therefore been adopted in all developed (and many developing) nations. Altrika has developed a range of next generation polymers which can dramatically increase the level of leukocyte removal from donated blood, as well as reducing the cost of the filters – a key consideration for such a disposable product.
Comparative tests show a 10 fold increase in leukocyte reduction using our solution compared with existing market products.
Our leukodepletion polymers were developed in-house and are available for licensing for a range of filtration applications. |
